Congratulations to Dr. Afonin for publishing his second book of the year! The book is a Special Issue Reprint entitled "Nanotechnology to Overcome World's Most Critical Health: Liposomes and Beyond—a Themed Issue Dedicated to Professor Yechezkel Barenholz" and focuses on nanotechnology platforms, including liposomes, which are used for the delivery of therapeutics and vaccines in order to solve the world’s most critical health issues and to support environmental sustainability.

Congratulations to Dr. Afonin! He was recently selected as a National Characterization Lab (NCL) collaborator to investigate a new anticoagulant platform to address some of the main complications associated with traditional anticoagulants. The new platform is based on immunoquiescent nucleic acid nanoparticles, which have recently been shown to exhibit efficient and fully reversible anticoagulant function while having regulated biodistribution and retention.
